Fair Practice aims to continue bringing global training to South African mediators to improve the confidence and competency of such mediators. Continuous mediation training also provides mediators opportunities to practice their skill set with fellow mediators not just from South Africa but also from a global community, giving a view of the practice of mediation in various international jurisdictions.

3-Day Civil/Commercial Mediation Training
FOR INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION
This programme provides already qualified mediators the opportunity to attain a CMC UK accreditation as well as SIMI RTP Qualification through an in-person application for SIMI level 1 accreditation. The programme is taught by global experts that have decades of experience. Completion of the programme results in full accreditation as a UK Civil-Commercial Mediator as well as other opportunities to have in-person assessments for SIMI RTP qualification thereby meeting international standards in mediation.
ADR-ODR International is accredited by the Civil Mediation Council (CMC) of the UK and we are recognised internationally as the leading ADR-ODR provider by our many corporate partners. ADR ODR International is also a SIMI registered service provider, giving our delegates the incredible opportunity to obtain SIMI accreditation.

At ADR-ODR International we believe that delegates learn best by practising mediation skills. This is why all of our mediation pro- grammes are skill-based and focused on practical learning. During your 3-Day Conversion Course, over 70% of your time will be spent in role-play scenarios with tutor-observed sessions. The programme is presented by highly experienced international tutors and mediation practitioners who give comprehensive feedback and guidance throughout.
The course creates a rich and stimulating environment with plenty of opportunities to interact with the course trainers and fellow delegates. Case study mediation exercises, group discussions and de-briefing sessions enable you to practice the skills you have learned.
Tutors are available to you throughout the programme to discuss any aspect of the course including practical difficulties. ADR-ODR International brings together leading knowledge in the field of Civil-Commercial Mediation training to ensure that each delegate understands the context and application of the core skills needed to become an excellent mediator.
Assessments
This course is assessed via a 90-minute role-play. This will be recorded using suitable equipment and will be sent to an independent assessor. There is also a written exam available only via our e-learning platform which allows tutors to assess your understanding of mediation from a more academic lens.
Course Materials
During the course, each delegate will receive a course manual and course slides via our exciting and interactive e-learning platform. The course manual is a concise introduction to mediation and is designed to assist your learning thought-out the course and get you ready to practice as a Civil/Commercial Mediator.
1-Day Online Dispute Resolution Training
If you have completed the Civil/Commercial Mediation Training and would like to become an Online Dispute Resolution Specialist, then this course is for you!
South African delegates will be welcomed into an online international classroom with delegates from different countries to learn how to conduct a mediation online. With step-by-step instructions from an experienced international faculty.
- This course will be presented online to demonstrate and equip delegates with skills to mediate online using the Zoom platform.
- Delegates will be able to engage with international colleagues to experience different cultural backgrounds and expectations from a mediated process.
- Delegates will also have the opportunity to use conduct a mediation online with fellow delegates.
This innovative training will make mediation more accessible in a rapidly digitalising world.
Upon successful completion of the one-day online course, delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
